Sonic CD

In 1993 Sega released the Mega CD addon in europe and in the same year they released this gem of a jump and run for it. I remember how I visited a classmate and how absolutely blown away I was from the graphics in “Road Avenger” and the gameplay of the exclusice Sonic CD game. 18 Years later I finally have my own copy and can play this classic title anywhere I want on my Android device and I must say, it aged well.

Qualcomm MDP MSM8660 Review

Posted by Jakob Ginzburg On December - 30 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Qualcomm Developer Programm

Due to Apple’s “one device for all target groups” policy, the perception has changed dramatically in terms of device diversity in recent years. “Diversity” changed to “fragmentation”. Forgotten are all the years, where developers had to adapt their software several times for different Symbian OS phones. Often people overlook the fact that many devices also bring many target groups, which bring many new ideas to the table, which can then be monetized.

After the newest boom of mobile apps, which are existing for over ten years now, a lot of small and big developers could reach new markets. Through the huge device diversity it became easier to find a customer base.

If you want to start to develop mobile apps you will have to ask yourself a few questions. For example which system and which plattform should I choose? At first the OS doesn’t matter, the processor architecture is more interesting. The biggest market share in that regard has Qualcomm, which supports developers, who can and want to invest a sum in the „Snapdragon Mobile Development Plattform“.

The MDP MSM8660 (that’s the name of the current version) consist of a high class developer smartphone and professional tools, bundled with a lot of documentations.
These give young developers with a easy way in. Senior developers will find useful information on how to further optimize your games and apps for the Snapdragon-CPU.

But what exactly is Snapdragon and why should developers invest time into this plattform?

CAVE is bringing their shoot’em ups to Android

Posted by Dan Mousavi On October - 21 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

One of the first things I wished for on Androidpimps was that CAVE would port their famous shoot’em ups over to Android.
I received a mail that CAVE is starting to release their games today for Android. At first these games will launch in Japan and Korea and a international version will follow soon. Here is a announcement trailer for the first two Android Games ESPGALUDA II and Dodonpachi Resurrection, as well as the links to the asian third party appstore that is already hosting them. The game will also launch on G-gee, Android Market, AU One Market and will work with Android 2.1 devices. A new rendering skip feature was implemented, to keep the game running smoothly on as much devices as possible.

ABOUT THE RENDERING SKIP FEATURE
In order to reduce CPU load which occurs due to device
differences, this function automatically adjusts the timing
and frequency of screen rendering.
Turning this setting ON in the options will allow players to
enjoy these shooters at the best settings for their device
CPU.

GGEE (Korean market)

gmo-game (Japanese market):

Dodonpachi Resurrection

Over 120 Free Games for September & October 2011 (part 1)

Posted by Dan Mousavi On October - 17 - 20112 COMMENTS

In the last 2 months there were so many free games, that I didn’t get around to write the free games list with images and links, which is why I am now overwhelmed by the mass amount of free games that hit the Android Market. I have actually collected over 130 Games for this list, but some are still untested and could drop out (like Blob Blast and Bike Mania in this list). There will be 5 parts this time, so check back regularly.
The games are alphabetically sorted, here are the games from A-B.^^

3D Flick Field Goal
a football kick flick game for free

45 Top Paid Games for October 2011 (part 1 of 2)

Posted by Dan Mousavi On October - 10 - 20112 COMMENTS

Hi everyone and welcome to another Toplist.
As you can see from the topic we have more recommendable games this month than ever before. Since we didn’t publish a free games list last month, but collected the games, we also have over 100 free games to recommend. Since these lists are getting to big for a single article to load, I will now split them in several parts. I think 25 games should be a maximum per page. The games will continue to be alphabetically sorted, so today you get A-L and tomorrow M-Z will follow. After that there will be 4-5 parts for the free games toplist.

9mm
A Max Payne clone with multiplayer from Gameloft
