Hungry Shark

Posted by Dan Mousavi On June - 30 - 2010

The British developer FGOL knows how to make a big splash with their debut title Hungry Shark. Taking the gameplay of Ecco the Dolphin and turning it into a bloody munch fest for high scores brings us one of the best pick up and play game experiences on smartphones.
You play a hungry shark that gets dropped into a ocean full of food. Your goal is to eat as many things as possible, starting from all the fishes in the ocean to people that swim or stand on boats and 10 hidden treasures. But there are dangers in the ocean, Blowfish hurt you when you attack them while they are blown up, Jellyfish sting when you eat them, divers try to stab you and there are mines everywhere you swim. Thankfully our shark is strong and regenerates fast if you eat continuously. If you get hurt too often or don’t reach another edible thing in time you starve and can enter your high score in a global ranking list.

Cosmic Patrol

Posted by Dennis Zimpel On June - 22 - 2010

With a hint by the programmer I’ve found Cosmic Patrol in the Market and thoroughly tested it, because the scenario sounds promising:

It is a sophisticated variant of the famous “Battle Ship”, where you take turns to find all hidden enemy ships on a grid, with the difference that these are spaceships. But that is not everything, because you have the choice between “Duel” (Against an opponent via wifi) and “Battle” (career mode).

Impossible Level Game + lite walkthrough

Posted by Dan Mousavi On June - 21 - 2010

Impossible Level game is the newest title published by Hyperbees and it seriously tries to annoy the heck out of you, by challenging you with a series of good, but sometimes frustrating riddles.
There are two versions available, a lite version with 14 Levels and a paid version with 30 Levels for 0,99 UK£. since these are riddles we cannot provide a real review, but we can help you beat the lite version. We won’t help you with the full game, but since the lite version is just a promo for the full game, we’d love to help you beat it , so you can advance to the full version.

Blow Up

Posted by David Holliss On June - 20 - 2010

Blow up. An addictive game by Camel Games you’ve probably never even heard of.

It’s probably one of the few games where a single screenshot probably explains the gameplay better than paragraphs of text, but I’ll give it a go. The aim of the game is to blow up wooden/metal structures with a restricted number of accurately placed bombs – these are placed by simply dragging in to the required position. Therefore turning the structure to a pile or rubble – the smaller you can make the pile of rubble the more points you’ll score. There is a horizontal guide line where all the rubble must lay beneath in order for you to progress to the next structure.

Furry Legend

Posted by Dan Mousavi On June - 18 - 2010

Today we got something special, a great Android exclusive puzzle jump and run found it’s way to the market (at least it’s exclusive in Europe, it’s also available for BREW Handsets in America). The polish developer Gamelion brings us Furry Legend for mobile. Furry Legend is the 2D prequel to a 3D Wiiware game, that’ll be released at 5th July. You play a fur ball, that rolls around happily on his home planet until his friend gets captured by evil triangles, that try to conquer your Homeland, so you embark on a adventure to rescue him. You advance by solving physics based puzzles, that are very diverse and don’t rehash the same mechanics all the time.

Nintendo just revealed the hardware specs of the new 3DS . The new 3D Screen has a resolution of 800×240, where 400 of the width are reserved for each eye, so we have a effective resolution of 400×240. That’s nearly the same as current Android devices, if future devices will support the new glasses free technology is up in the air, but it should definately be possible, if a manufacturer licenses the new technology from Sharp.
In any case, the 3DS brings new life to the handheld market and brings developers complete new ways to immerse the player deeper into the game.
Here are the known specs of the 3DS and a screen of the device:

Slice

Posted by Dennis Zimpel On June - 15 - 2010

As my colleague told me of Slice and sent me the link to the Market I was a little sceptical because the Screenshots looked not really good, but we would not be Androidpimps if we would condemn a game because of it’s look, Screenshots just don’t say much about a game.

So I searched for Slice in the Market, downloaded and started. What then was revealed to me was a really powerful boredom-killer!
