Robotek

Posted by Dennis Zimpel On May - 30 - 2011

In Robotek you try to conquer the world, what a surprise and you can guess yourself how rare this goal is, even my dog wasn’t impressed, he said that this plan was his idea and he already done it. Still, Robotek has great gameplay that is based on luck and skill, but the gameplay is hard to describe, which is why I included a Youtube video, so I can further explain it.

Tiny Bee

Posted by Dennis Zimpel On May - 27 - 2011

I think you already know Tiny Wings or Dillo Hills, but now there’s Tiny Bee, a very similar game but at least as funny as them and as addictive. Your mission is to control a bee which flies in front of a bad weather cloud, which you can see at the left corner of your screen. If it catches your bee you will die, just like a bee in a storm would.

Nano Panda Review & Free Version Walkthrough

Posted by Dan Mousavi On May - 24 - 2011

Nano Panda is the first single screen 3 stars puzzle game on Android that I absolutely love. Your goal is to shoot magnetic pandas that attract each other out of barrels and destroy all monsters on the screen, while you try to collect the three stars that are placed on the screen. While it is relatively easy to just finish a level, getting all three stars on all levels is a real heavy mindbender, that could take as much time from you as Angry Birds did. If you are looking for a game that has the same satisfying feeling as Cut the Rope when you master a puzzle, look no further. The new developer Unit9 has you covered

Tegra Games now playable on non Tegra devices

Posted by Dan Mousavi On May - 24 - 2011

There is a new tool out called Chainfire 3D, which is an intermediary OpenGL driver, that hooks into your rooted OpenGL ES 2.0 capable phone (pretty much every phone with over 1Ghz).
These drivers are much faster than the normal ones and make even Tegra 2 games playable on older devices.
Lars Hacker was kind enough to test this out for us and here is a video of him playing Samurai Vengeance II and Pinball HD on a Nexus One.

If you want to try them out yourself, you can find more information at the source at XDA

All Gamevil games available for 0,99$

Posted by Dan Mousavi On May - 20 - 2011

Gamevil is one of the top adresses when it comes to 2D games on Android, they are mostly famous for the popular action rpg Zenonia, but they have a lot of other cool games and now you can get all their releases for under a dollar.
I’m not so sure what the reason is, but if I would guess, it could be because they just had a huge hit on the iPhone with their new game Air Penguin, which will come to Android soon. The game reached #1 in the paid apps section in the USA, France, Germany and Netherlands and and brought them over 1 Million in revenue in the first 30 days. No matter what’s the reason, if you held out on some of their games (like I did with Zenonia 2 and Illusia, because I already have too much unfinished 50+ hour grinder installed at the moment), now is the perfect time to get them.

Basketball Online

Posted by Dennis Zimpel On May - 20 - 2011

I have to admit I won’t be able to write much about this “mini-game”, but it should be mentioned at least, because it’s really good despite the minimalistic graphics.
Basketball Online is a 2D Skill-Game, on the left side of the screen you see a basket and on the right side a ball will appear on random positions. The goal is, you guessed it, to throw the ball into the hoop. You do that by dragging the ball, then a line will appear that shows you the trajectory of your shot and when you let go you shoot.

Death Worm

Posted by Dennis Zimpel On May - 17 - 2011

Death Worm is already well known and liked on the iPhone, now it finally arrived on Android. It does a wonderful job on our plattform too and does its best with the rich 2D graphics, the integrated Highscore lists and the detailed environments to bring you a lot of destructive fun. Death Worm is a great game that you can play either for a longer session or for a short burst of fun on the toilet or on a break, at work or in school.

For the last year, Gameloft hasn’t released any of their new games on the Android market, which is why we didn’t cover them.
Now they are back with a pretty good shooter, Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus. The game was released through their website in January and it is 2$ cheaper there, but still, a new release on the official android market is something we wanted for a long time now.
Let’s hope that they will bring all their new games on the market and that they will be priced more fair compared to their own offering, they had some hot releases that we would like to cover.
Here is the official trailer:

Features:

The best FPS controls on Android for a smooth and intuitive gaming experience.
Throw yourself into 12 battlefields set in the Middle-East, Eastern Europe and South America.
Use 15 weapons from real military forces that you can now gather directly from your enemies.
Blur effects when taking fire and dynamic lightning on your weapon contribute to the immersion.
Engage in 10-player online and local confrontations.
Choose between 4 multiplayer modes: Battle, Team Battle, Defuse the Bomb & Capture the Flag.

30 Top Free games for April & May

Posted by Dan Mousavi On May - 9 - 2011

Google started with in app purchases this month and because of that it gets really hard to decide, if a title that claims to be free is really a free game or if it has in app purchases, that make it unplayable without paying something.
We played most of the listed games long enough to ensure, that you get a good portion of the game for free, but we cannot guarantee anymore, that a game that seems to be free won’t cost money down the line through in app purchases. Another problem we have is with wrongly labeled games like the unlisted Lord of Magic, the game is essentially a demo version with only three levels, but since the game is good and should have been on the paid games list, I kept it at the bottom.
If any of the listed free games is nothing more then a glorified demo version down the line, please let us know in the comments and in the market comments, it is now impossible for us alone to guarantee that a game that looks like a free game is not a cuckoo egg, so we need your help in exposing them.
