Fruit Ninja

Openfeint launched on Android and with it came a handful of great games. Fruit Ninja was the most anticipated and shortly after release it climbed to the number 1 spot in the Top Sales list surpassing Robo Defense, a feat no other game has accomplished in the last 6 months. Let’s find out what’s so special about Ninjas and why they hate fruit so much.

Yesterday evening the Nexus One was the first device to get the Froyo upgrade, we shot some Video material from Gameloft’s new game Gangstar before and after the update, so you can compare it’s performance.

We chose one of the new Gameloft titles because they are still missing optimization for the Snapdragon processor and are the only games that performed that badly on Eclair. The game often had lousy fps, even with Froyo you will see the occasional hiccup, but it definately got a lot smoother.

Here is Gangstar running on Eclair, the last mission is present in both videos, so you can compare the performance:

100 Android games on video

Back at the end of January, there was a video from the french guys at AndroidHD, showing off 50 games on the Droid.
That was a great way for me to get an overview over already released games I hadn’t played yet.
They made a follow-up video a while ago, showing off 50 other games on the Nexus one.

With Zenonia the biggest Roleplaying Hit 2009 for the Iphone is finally available for the Android plattform. It’s also the game, that I wanted the most for my Nexus One.

Cubic Man
